About Us
High Speed 1 (formerly known as the channel tunnel rail link) is - the first major railway to be built in this country for over a century, and the UK's first true high speed line.
A Railway Experience for the 21st Century
Three state of the art stations have been constructed along the high-speed route from the Channel Tunnel to the heart of London. The £800 million restoration and extension of St Pancras International will replace Waterloo as the new home of Eurostar from November 2007 becoming Europe's destination station. The architecturally inspiring Ebbsfleet situated between Dartford and Gravesend, will also open in November 2007 and be the parkway station for travellers to and from the continent with excellent links to the M25 and A2. It will also become an important catalyst for the major regeneration of the area. And in 2009, Stratford International will open it's doors, eventually linking to the new Stratford City development and the DLR extension, as well as being the transport hub for the London Olympics in 2012. Our staff will be central in helping us fulfil our vision of creating a railway experience for the 21st century.
